About This Coastal Bird / Wildlife Picture: “Skyway Bridge and Bob's Pelican Friends” is a colorized coastal landscape / wildlife photograph of 6 dark brown and white Pelicans resting on the old abandoned remains of the original Skyway Bridge that was destroyed in 1980s when a freighter struck the bridge during a storm resulting in the Southbound bridge collapse into the bay. Today, the approaches of the old bridge on both sides of the bay are open to fish from. In the background of this photo is the pillars of the impressive Bob Graham Sunshine Skyway Bridge that was opened in 1987. A blue color effect was added as well as a vignette to add a touch of rustic drama to the photo.
